A SENDCO who truly listens

"Every learner deserves to be supported to bounce back, work hard and achieve, and every family deserves a clear path through the system that surrounds that learner."

Myette Blannin is a NASENCO-qualified SENDCO and Senior Leadership Team member, currently leading SEND at a state primary in Hampshire. She has held SENCo responsibility across both primary and secondary settings, taught in a specialist SEN school in Guernsey, and spent time in international schools in Bangkok and Mexico City. The breadth matters: the same child's needs look different through a KS1 lens, a KS4 lens, a mainstream lens and a specialist lens.

She founded Otto Education to give families and schools an independent voice in the room: someone who can explain the SEND system in plain English, sit alongside them through difficult conversations, and keep the focus on the individual child. Read more about Myette →

Why families trust Otto

No borrowed praise here: just the facts about who you would be working with, and a promise about how we work.

Qualified and still practising

Myette holds the National Award for SEN Coordination (Bath Spa University with Best Practice Network, 2023), a PGCE in Early Years (Middlesex, 2007) and a BA in History (Leeds, 2006). She is a serving SENDCO and senior leadership team member at a state primary in Hampshire, so her advice reflects how the system works right now.

Experience across every kind of setting

In education since 2007, with the last eight years focused on SEND. Myette has worked across KS1 to KS4, in a specialist SEN school in Guernsey, in mainstream schools, and in international schools in Bangkok and Mexico City.

Safeguarding comes first

Otto Education has a published safeguarding policy, and your child's safety and wellbeing sit above everything else. You can read the policy in full before you ever get in touch.

An independent voice

Myette has no school or local authority to answer to. In every meeting, every plan and every recommendation, the only agenda in the room is your child.

A new practice, honestly offered. Otto Education is a new independent practice built on Myette's years inside schools, so you will not find a wall of logos or a bank of quotes here. What you will find is real experience, a published safeguarding policy and a clear process. You are warmly invited to be part of the story from the start: it begins with a free conversation.

What parents usually ask

Honest answers to the questions that come up on almost every discovery call. If yours isn't here, just ask it on the call.

How much does it cost?
There is no fixed price list, because no two families need the same support. The 30 minute discovery call is always free, and if you decide to go further Myette will send you a clear written quote before you commit to anything. Fees are agreed in writing before any work starts, so there are no surprises.
Does my child need a diagnosis before we start?
No. Support is based on your child's needs, not on labels. Many families get in touch while they are still waiting for assessments, and waiting for a diagnosis is never a reason to wait for help.
How do virtual sessions work?
Sessions run over video call at a time that suits your family, with materials shared on screen and sent to you afterwards. Virtual sessions and consultations are available anywhere in the UK. All you need is a quiet spot and an internet connection.
Can you come to meetings with my child's school?
Yes. Myette can join school meetings in person around the Surrey and Hampshire borders, and virtually anywhere in the UK. She can also help you prepare beforehand, so you walk in knowing what to ask and what a good outcome looks like.
Can you represent us at a SEND tribunal?
No. Tribunal representation is legal advocacy, which sits outside what Otto Education covers. Myette will signpost you to IPSEA and your local SENDIASS service, both of which offer free advice, and she can help you prepare the groundwork, such as organising evidence and getting the paperwork in order.
How do you handle information about my child?
Carefully and confidentially. Anything you share is used only to support your child and is never passed on without your agreement, unless safeguarding law requires it. You can read the privacy policy and the safeguarding policy in full on this site.

Why schools trust Otto

You are assessing a supplier, so here are the facts that matter, with nothing invented and nothing borrowed.

Qualified and currently serving

Myette holds the National Award for SEN Coordination (Bath Spa University with Best Practice Network, 2023) and a PGCE in Early Years (Middlesex, 2007). As a serving SENDCO and SLT member at a state primary in Hampshire, she carries the same statutory duties your SENCo does, this term, not years ago.

Cross-phase, cross-setting

In education since 2007 and SEND-focused for the last eight years, Myette has worked from KS1 to KS4, in a specialist SEN school in Guernsey, in mainstream schools, and in international schools in Bangkok and Mexico City. She has seen provision from more than one side.

Safeguarding comes first

Otto Education publishes its safeguarding policy openly, so your DSL can review it before any engagement begins. Read the safeguarding policy.

An independent voice

No chain, no franchise and no product to sell. Recommendations are based on your pupils and your context, nothing else.

A new practice, honestly offered. Otto Education is a new independent consultancy built on Myette's years in schools. There is no client list to show you yet, and we would rather say so than invent one. If you would like to be one of the schools that shapes it, the scoping call is free.

What school leaders usually ask

The practical questions that come up at scoping, answered plainly. Anything else, bring it to the call.

How is CPD tailored to our school?
Every session starts with a conversation with your SENCo or leadership team about your context, your priorities and what staff actually need. Myette then builds the session around real situations from your school rather than generic slides. Half days, full days and series across a term are all possible.
What does IEP support look like alongside our SENCo?
It is collaborative, not a takeover. Myette works with your SENCo to write or review Individual Education Plans where extra capacity or a second pair of eyes would help, and leaves your team with plans they own and a process they can repeat.
What does a policy review include?
A close reading of your SEND policy and supporting documents against current legislation and good practice, a written summary of gaps and recommendations, and support to redraft. The aim is a policy your staff actually use, not a document that sits in a drawer.
How are fees structured?
Day and half day rates for CPD and in-school work, or a fee per piece of work for defined projects such as a policy review. Whatever the shape, the fee is quoted in writing at the scoping stage and agreed before any work starts.
What are your safeguarding arrangements?
Otto Education has a published safeguarding policy, which you can read on this site. Myette is a serving SENDCO and senior leader, and safeguarding practice runs through everything she does in your school.
How far do you travel?
In person, Myette works around the Surrey and Hampshire borders. Virtually, she works with schools anywhere in the UK. CPD, IEP support and policy work all translate well to remote delivery.
