I've been in education since 2007, with the last eight years focused on SEND: leading provision in mainstream primary and secondary, in a specialist SEN setting in Guernsey, and previously in international schools in Bangkok and Mexico City. I currently lead SEND as SENDCO and Senior Leadership Team member at a state primary in Hampshire.
Otto Education exists because the families I've worked with have often told me the same thing: they wanted someone who could explain the system in plain language, sit alongside them through the difficult parts, and put the child genuinely at the centre. That's what this practice is for.

Every engagement starts with listening: to the child, to the family, to the school. The right support is only possible when you truly understand the person you're supporting.
Be honest
That means telling you what we can and can't help with, being clear about what's realistic, and never overpromising. Trust matters more than being liked.
Think long-term
Quick fixes rarely serve children well. We're interested in building understanding, confidence and capability that lasts, not just getting through the next assessment.
Work alongside
We're not here to replace a school's SENCo or a family's judgement. We're here to add expertise, capacity and perspective, working with you, not over you.
What an engagement looks like
Every engagement follows the same simple journey. It starts with a free 30-minute discovery call, with no obligation on either side. If we agree there is a useful piece of work to do, you receive a short written plan with the scope and fees agreed up front, before any work starts, so there are no surprises. Then the work itself happens, whether that is tutoring, EHCP or IEP support, or work with your school. We finish by reviewing together what has changed and what, if anything, should come next. The story behind the work
Why I started Otto Education
My career has taken me from a first KS1 teaching post in London, to international schools in Bangkok and Mexico City, to a specialist SEN setting in Guernsey, and back to the UK as a secondary SENCo and now a primary SENDCO. The thread running through all of it has been the same: the children who get the best outcomes are the ones whose adults are working in the same direction and have the right information.
What's also been consistent is that families often don't have anyone independent to help them make sense of what's happening. Schools are doing their best; local authorities are stretched; and parents are left translating between them. Otto Education exists to be that translator, and where useful an advocate, a sounding board, or a steadying voice through a difficult process.
How I work
I work directly with the families and schools I take on. You'll always be talking to me, not to an account manager. Where a child needs input from other specialists (educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists), I'll be honest about that and help you find the right person; I won't pretend to be a one-stop shop when the genuinely right answer is a referral.

PGCE (Early Years 3 to 7) from Middlesex, 2007. First teaching post at Grasvenor Avenue Infant School in London, working across Year 1 and Year 2.
Senior Leader · Underhill Junior, London
Year 3 teacher and Assistant Vice Principal with phase-wide responsibility for lower KS2, plus PE Coordinator and Numicon Lead Teacher across the school.
International schools · Bangkok and Mexico City
Year 1 class teacher at Harrow International School in Bangkok, then Primary Teacher and EAL/SEND Advisor at Greengates School (IB) in Mexico City, supporting multilingual, multicultural cohorts with a wide range of needs.
Specialist SEN setting · Guernsey
Class teacher and KS1 Lead at Le Rondin School, planning a differentiated curriculum for pupils with significant cognitive, communication and sensory needs. Also Maths Subject Lead.
Secondary SENCo · Hurst Lodge, Yateley
Took SENCo responsibility for Years 7 to 11 in an independent secondary school, supporting pupils with dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, autism and SEMH needs through KS3 and KS4. Completed the NASENCO during this period.
SENDCO & SLT · South Farnborough Infants (current)
Leading whole-school SEND provision in a state primary (the SEND register, IEP cycles and the full EHCP pathway) alongside Senior Leadership Team contribution to school improvement and policy.

Every recommendation I make has a child's wellbeing, confidence and progress at its heart. Not just what the system requires: what genuinely helps.

I don't disappear after delivering a session or a document. I stay available to answer questions and to adjust as things evolve.
